ARE YOU READY TO GET THE CREEPS?

With Halloween literally right around the corner, it's time to get in the spirit and list out our scariest movie characters. Whether they are children, people or things.....these are the characters that have been haunting us in our dreams for decades, who make us look over our shoulders when we're walking home alone at night or down a dark hallway. The characters who are vividly printed in our minds and make it impossible to sleep with the lights off at night (we've all been there). This is our list of characters who really get under our skin and make it crawl.

Movie:
It
Character: Pennywise

Pennywise, from the 1990 film It based on the Stephen King novel, might be the most terrifying clown ever. The demented clown resides in the sewers of small town Maine, relentlessly haunting and killing little children. Clowns are supposed to be cheerful and lift children up, instead Pennywise lures children into sewers with tricks and toys, the very things they love - only to drive them crazy or kill them. Pennywise will forever be entrenched in our brains and continues to spread widespread fear of clowns across all age groups (just look at that face...).

LINES THAT GIVE US THE CHILLS:

"They all float down here. When you're down here with us, you'll float too"

Movie:
The Omen
Character: Damien Thorn

Young Damien truly proves how scary children can be. Damien, the anti-Christ, son of Satan masks the evil that resides within by putting on a smile on an "innocent face", which adds to his scare factor.

LINES THAT GIVE US THE CHILLS:

"Katherine Thorn: What's the matter, those other kids didn't want to play with you? Damien: They're afraid..."

Movie: Child's Play
Character: Chucky

Chucky is one of the most iconic horror villains and most likely birthed everyone's unease and fright of porcelain dolls. Chucky first starts out in the 1988 movie Child's Play as the character Charles Lee, a serial killer who had a bizarre fascination with voodoo. Once dead, Lee places his soul in the body of a doll (Chucky) and continues his reign of terror in an attempt to avoid the afterlife.

LINES THAT GIVE US THE CHILLS:

"Hi, I'm Chucky. Wanna play?"

Movie:
A Nightmare on Elm Street
Character: Freddy Kruger

The 1984 A Nightmare on Elm Street is a classic. No Halloween movie list is complete without good ol' Freddy Kruger. It's easy to understand what makes him so utterly terrifying. Anything that gets you in your sleep is sure to scare you shitless. We are most vulnerable when we are sleeping and the fact that someone can haunt and kill us in our dreams brings chills down our spine and is horrifying on a primal level. Freddy makes us scared to fall alseep at night and his looks only add to his overall scare factor. The scarred face, and torn up shirt is just unnerving, not to mention those razor sharp shears on the tips of his fingers...oh, and that fedora, that literally tops it off.

LINES THAT GIVE US THE CHILLS:

"Whatever you do...don`t fall asleep"

Movie:
Halloween
Character: Michael Myers

Before there was Freddy and Jason, there was Michael Myers. Myers first appeared in John Carpenters 1978 iconic slasher film  Halloween. Myers began his killing spree as a child, when he stalked his sister in a white William Shatner mask. Halloween sets the stage for future slasher films. Myers character is by far one of the scariest characters of all time. Anyone that starts killing as a child, murders their own sister and managers to escape a mental institution is a bonafide creep and scares us to the bone. Michael Myers is the boogeyman that scares us at night and that is lurking in our doorways when we turn around. He can't be killed and somehow always finds a way to come back and kills some more which makes him all the more frightening.

LINES THAT GIVE US THE CHILLS:

"Death has come to your little town, sheriff"
