A LOOK INSIDE: THE SHOES.COM TORONTO STORE

The SHOES.COM Space

Toronto was chosen as the first brick & mortar location for SHOES.COM. The 3000 square foot space, designed by Canadian firm, Dialog, originally opened as a pop-up shop in November. Following some great results, we decided to stay in Toronto for good. Here are the three principles of our newly renovated space:

#1 REFLECTS OUR ONLINE EXPERIENCE

Our stores are gateways to our digital experience. We want to offer the very best for our customers with seamless collections across both our online and offline channels, ordering stations, and in-store returns.

The front space of our Toronto store is dubbed the ‘Home Room’ reflecting the products and messaging of our Homepage on SHOEme.ca. The mirrors in the Home Room are designed to create an optical illusion of an endless selection, just like our online experience.

#2 FOCUS ON LOCAL COMMUNITY

Nothing is more meaningful than community. Our store doubles as a gathering space for the local community. The back space of our Toronto store, entitled the "Editor’s Room" will function as a community space for workshops, speaker sessions or taking a break from shopping over a coffee with friends.

This space will also display curated collections of local handmade products by well-known Toronto makers. One of the makers we’ll be featuring during our first month is Toronto hat designer Jason Mitchell from Coup de Tete.

All furniture inside the store is locally made and custom crafted - reflecting our focus on the local community and the designers, builders, and creators within it.

#3 STORES WITHIN A STORE

  • The middle of the store is called the Dressing Room.

  • This space will host 5-6 new brands every two months with the goal of allowing guests to discover the styles, stories and the people behind new brands while rediscovering brands that they know and love.

  • Brands will be features across all of SHOEme’s channels including social, email, web, and in-store.

  • Current featured brands include: Richer Poorer, Hardy, Clarks, Guess etc.
